Our students had the opportunity to visit a number of fashion stores at, the central market in Accra and also had the chance to interact with the market vendors as they explained to the students the uses of the tools, materials, and types of equipment they will be using in their future projects. Mrs. Joyce, CEO of Joyce Enterprise, a boutique, and fabric shop further encouraged the students to focus on whatever skill they are learning in the school because as a fashion businesswoman, her traveling abroad and seeing the big garment and fabrics companies in China, Bangladesh, India, and Italy has proved to her of how profitable fashion business is.

This tour also gave the students a clear picture of the various tools, materials, and types of equipment, fashion designers do work with. As part of our fashion entrepreneurship course, the trip was aimed at developing our student’s skills and also help them know the entrepreneurial opportunities for them as potential fashion designers.
